Just 90 minutes from Bangkok, Pattaya is Thailand's most visited holiday destination. 2010 saw tourist arrivals surpass 5 million and recent years have seen significant public and private investment in Pattaya and the surrounding region to stimulate and support this growth.

Upgraded infrastructure has significantly reduced travelling times to the resort destination and the expansion of a new passenger terminal at U-Tapao Pattaya International Airport, which is to be completed by 2013, is expected to encourage more foreign tourists to Pattaya. The real estate sector is booming across all segments, with industrial estates, upmarket shopping malls, hotels and residential properties being added to region recently.
